Every 10th vehicle going down the highway that goes directly through Toowoomba is a truck carrying live animals to the slaughter house, so many cattle get killed here, that there is an actual place called " Beef City " employing around 700 staff.

From the cattle trucks fall so much cattle poo, that you can see it in the roads gutter. It does not rain much in Toowoomba these days, so the dry cattle poo is blown by the wind and settles on everything.

The uni is a 12 minute bus trip from the city and is located on the outskirts of town on the edge of the suburbs. Not much nightlife here, no nightclubs really to talk about. Some bars pretend to have a nightclub, but it is just an upstairs room with a couple of coloured lights overlooking the main street.

If I was to send my children from another part of the world to Australia to study at uni or school as an exchange student, I would send them to Toowoomba. Not much happens here crime wise. Has pleasant people and is reasonably wealthy judging by great percentage of newer model cars on the roads.

The gospel music festival is also huge if you are into that sort of thing. Personally I felt out of place as I did not know a single act that went on stage, everybody else obviously did from all the cheers they got. The total lack of a beer tent was also a downer.
