"...this idealic paradise is wild brutal nature..."
I have lived on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia for 11 years, so I know it well. During this time it has grown immensely, I visit once every year due to my relatives living there.
Bitte drücke mal, danke Peter.
The last time I was there I actually got lost, due to the city build up of this once quaint little holiday town surrounding Cavill Avenue in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
The Asian tour groups are herded through the streets and into the so called OK Gifts shops, where friendly Japanese sell aborigine didgeridoo and boomerangs at three times the price, as these tour groups have been educated that they will be ripped off by the Australians in all other shops. Of course this is the direct opposite, Australians are 95% genuine nice people who do not rip off tourists, and that is the honest truth of the matter. Being of Caucasian appearance, I get the evil look when I step into one of these shops as if I was an intruder.
Bitte drücke mal, danke Peter.
In the mean time on the beaches, shonky Korean tour operators charge each of their victims US$100 for the right of spending one hour on the beautiful sands of the Gold Coast, when it is of course free of charge to everyone any beach every where no exceptions around Australia.
The picture perfect beaches are really here, from Sydney in New South Wales to Noosa in Queensland , endless beaches, with sand that is so fine it squeaks loudly with every step you take. The ocean is crystal clear and blue, providing there was no storm about.
But this idealic paradise is wild brutal nature, and every year of the beaches, including the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise, tourists drown because they choose to swim in places where there is no life guard on duty, mainly Japanese drown, as they can not get the idea of looking out for themselves, which is a concept foreign to their close knit society. There are 'rips', fast currents that form at relatively even intervals along the beach, where the water that has been swept in by the majestic waves, is sucked back out to sea. Without a reference point on the beach, such as the flag of a lifesaver, it does not take long and a swimmer has drowned.
The Queensland beaches beyond Noosa are in many cases less spectacular and have next to no waves due to the start of the Great Barrier Reef and Fraser Island.
I hope this can be of benefit to your future travels.
