Brisbane Queensland Australia
''...If you like the bustle of the big smoke, I do not recommend Brisbane...''
The capital of Queensland, Brisbane does not have too many people living in it, the urban sprawl reaches far and wide.
Brisbane residents are generally happy, content people. This is the result of a great climate with mostly sunny days and temperatures ranging from 15 C to 32 C during the day.
My favourite place in Brisbane is South Bank, this is the site where Expo 88 was located and is right in the city. A man made beach with crystal clear water and a life guard is surrounded by tropical rainforests, restaurants and open air theatre.

The state library, museum and art gallery are also bordering on this site.
China Town is just a stroll away, it is not very big, but I just love the food, a habit I picked up from my holiday in china.
All in all, Brisbane is a great place to live and study if you are going to the uni. It is quite safe, with not a huge amount of crime committed.
If you like the bustle of the big smoke, I do not recommend Brisbane, it is too laid back and small for that, you should go down to Sydney.
